About the author - John grew up in the coastal area of Jacksonville, Florida, the older of two brothers. Graduating from Florida State University, he began his career in business with Procter & Gamble and later served as a ship officer with the U.S. Coast Guard, involved in rescues and law enforcement in the North Atlantic. Following his sea duty, John was hired as a writer by an advertising agency on St. Simons Island and eventually started his own creative agency, publishing and editing Challenge in Business magazine for Christian business leaders. John became involved in the outreach of World Wide Pictures and with Campus Crusade for Christ. He later earned his Masters at Luther Rice University where he was introduced, during a week-long seminar by Dr. Henry Morris (co-author of The Genesis Flood) to the evidences for Biblical Creation, which he studied extensively. Since then, John has served as a missionary to Russia, pastor and teacher, and currently lives with his wife and family in coastal Georgia.

This Present Darkness was a landmark work and thrilling saga which opened many eyes to the reality of angelic presence - both good and evil - and to how such powers can be affected by the prayers and activities of man.
